Academic Publishing: RefWorks

RefWorks is an online research/citation management tool that allows you to collect, store, and manage information. It collects your citations, organizes them into folders, and enables you to quickly create bibliographies in a variety of formats, such as MLA, APA, and Chicago for you to proofread before using.

With RefWorks, you can:

• create your own database of references;
• export references from article databases and from the Web;
• generate in-text citations and bibliographies
• Easily collaborate and share references
• Easily organize your research
• Search online catalogs such as CUNY+Plus & import citations into RefWorks

Access Refworks

Creating an Account: New users must first create an individual account in order to use RefWorks:

1. Click Create account and enter your CUNY email when prompted.
2. Once your account is created you no longer need to be on campus or authenticate off-campus: simply login anywhere.
