Most encyclopedias and dictionaries are located on the second floor in the library building. They are non-circulating books which means you are not allowed to take those books out of the library. You can read in the library, make copies, or scan and save them to your flash drive.
Please activate your QCC ID (OneCard) every semester. You need an activated QCC ID to access e-books or library databases off-campus.
While dictionaries provide definitions of the words or phrases, encyclopedias are references that contain articles on various subjects.
If you can not decide on a subject for your paper, reading an encyclopedia article or other reference source is a good way to get background ideas for your topic. You can also use them to narrow your topic.
