Library Policies: Space/Silent Study

Library policies

Library Space

The Library has a variety of spaces to accommodate the different ways that students study here.

Saving Space

Please do not leave personal belongings unattended.  Some students leave coats, books and bags in order to save seats. Unattended personal belongings will be treated as abandoned property and will be turned over to Public Safety.

Silent Study / Quiet Study

The second (main) floor of the Library is reserved for quiet and silent study.  The exception is the Group Study room in L209.  There is a silent study room on the 3rd floor in room L308.

Group Study

Most study groups use the round tables in the open areas on the third floor. Groups using the round tables on the third floor are reminded to maintain a conversational tone. Furniture should not be moved into the aisles.

Study groups are not permitted on the second floor except in the Group Study room (L209).
