Welcome to the Queensborough Community College (QBCC) Archives! Within, researchers will find materials and collections within its archival holdings. Finding aids for the collections available to researchers can be found on our Archives Space page! A selection of our digitized material is available to view on JSTOR.
The Queensborough Community College Archives is located in room 2-20 on the second floor of the Kurt R. Schmeller Library, Bayside, New York. The archives are open to QCC faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other researchers.
The archive has been curating materials relating to the college's faculty, staff, and students since its creation in the early 1960s. The archives' various collections include CUNY records, academic and administrative records of the college, The Aurora (Queensborough’s student yearbook), The Communique (Queensborough’s student newspaper), and a photo collection that reflects campus life and other academic events. Additionally, the archives holds The Frank R. Padavan Legislative Special Collection, which contains City and Legislative bills, correspondence, and photos from Frank R. Padavan’s thirty-seven years in office.
Access to Archives Space and JSTOR has been provided by CUNY's Cultivating Archives and Institutional Memory Project and the Mellon Foundation.
