  • learn how to evaluate web resources
  • distinguish scholarly journals from popular magazines
  • know how to cite sources in a proper style format
  • explain what plagiarism is

Criterior for Evaluating Web Resources*

  • Authority: Who created the website content? Is it a personal blog? What about Wikipedia?
  • Objectivity: It is important to consider author's goals and objectives. Websites vary from objective to biased
  • Accuracy: Check facts and grammar
  • Currency: What is the most recent date on the page?
  • Coverage: Is it relevant to your topic? Is the information presented in a way that makes sense?
