Search a large collection of popular full-text magazines, reference books and other highly-regarded sources covering virtually every general interest subject area including an extensive collection of photos, maps and flags.

This database allows limitations to :

New York Times - Historical Newspapers (1851-2014 / Searchable Database) This link opens in a new window
Provides users with the ability to restrict search results to different portions of the newspaper (articles, advertisements, cartoons, etc.).

Choose Advanced Search
Select the portion of the newspaper. In this example I have selected Article
Type in the name of the person in the search box
Surround the name with quotation marks to keep the two names together in the results page
