QCC students can check out laptop computers for two hours at the Reserve Desk. Laptops must be used in the Library.
In order to get a laptop computer a student must present a valid, unaltered, activated QCC ID card. The ID card is scanned to confirm that the student is currently enrolled at QCC and has no library blocks.
Laptop computers have access to the full Internet and Microsoft Office without PowerPoint, along with printing capabiliities. The laptops print to the wireless printer on the second floor of the Library.
The laptop computers also have OpenOffice PowerPoint for viewing and creating files only.
The Library has desktop computers on the second and third floors. Priority is given to current QCC students who need computers for course related work.
All desktop computers on the second floor have access to Library resources and Microsoft Office except PowerPoint. Only twelve desktop computers offer full Internet access.
All desktop computers on the third floor have access to Library resources, Microsoft Office except PowerPoint, and OpenOffice PowerPoint for viewing and creating files only.
No computers in the Library have the ability to print PowerPoint files.
There are also three ADA desktop computers with ADA software and full Internet access located in the Library.
No eating or drinking is allowed near any computer.
For more computers with full Internet access and specialized course-related software, students can use the Academic Computing Center.
No more than two students may use a computer at the same time.
