Queensborough offers a number of full and partial tuition scholarships for newly admitted freshmen. Eligible candidates are selected from the Fall freshman pool of applicants.
Students currently enrolled and in good academic standing with short-term financial emergencies are eligible for a one-time emergency grant during the next three years to enable them to remain in school, rather than being forced to leave or drop out. The goal is to increase the number of students who successfully complete college.
These scholarships support timely progress toward degree completion by helping students reach their “thirty-credit milestone.” Scholarships apply to a course to be taken during the Summer or Winter session. Applicants must have completed less than 30 earned credits as of the end of the Fall or Spring semester.
These are tuition waivers to students taking certain STEM courses in the Winter and Summer inter-sessions. They help to promote credit accumulation in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
These scholarships, funded by a variety of donors, are for students enrolled in the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies (CUNY BA), a University-wide, individualized degree. CUNY BA students can be matriculated in a community college; at 68 credits, they transfer to one of CUNY’s senior colleges.
Outstanding CUNY community college students who transfer to an eligible CUNY senior college (Brooklyn, City, Hunter, Lehman, and Queens) can apply for up to $4,000 paid over two years.
