Class will be reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith with emphasis on the immigrant experience 100 years ago and comparing with any other period of time up to and including the present by ethnicity, social acceptance, ease of entering the country.
Students need help finding appropriate sources, websites that are trust worthy, primary vs. secondary sources etc.
