Surface Web is easily accessed through browsers using search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing. It looks like a lot of information, but the Surface web is just the tip of the iceberg.
Deep web is not easily accessed by search engines and composed of 90% of the World Wide Web. Information is password protected or behind a paywall. Medical records, bank accounts, some government documents, and library databases are considered as deep web.
Dark web is a small portion of deep web. IP addresses are hidden and special software is needed to access. Dark web may/can be used for illegal transactions.
