Library Display: 2015 - June - Asian American History

Display

The Library takes great pleasure in announcing our new display in the three glass cases at the entrance of the main (second) floor.

We invite you to come in and view this very special exhibit celebrating the heritage of Asian cultures, in recognition of Asian-American History Month.  Included are representations of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Indian, Thai and Indonesian traditions, presented through literature, famous individuals, works of art, food, fans, masks, teapots, costumes, and dolls.

We want to express our appreciation to Florence Tse, Director of the Port of Entry Program, Barbara Bonous-Smit, Library Coordinator of Reference and Serials, Mi-Seon (Christine) Kim, Science Librarian and Marzieh Nassiri, student, for providing the really beautiful cultural artifacts.

An additional note of thanks goes to Marzieh, as well as to students, Adrena West and Roxana Gheorghiu, for their invaluable assistance in putting the exhibit together.  And we continue to be very grateful to Lawrence Chan, Senior College Lab Technician for his professional photography.
