Literary Criticism

 Literary Criticism is made up of writings based upon informed opinions, views and/or analyses of the effectiveness, value, historical significance and meanings in specific works and the writings of specific authors.  Aspects of such analyses include writing style, theme, and character.

Literature Review

A literature review is a critical review of scholarly articles on a particular topic, issue, theory or area of research.

A typical literature review consists of:

  • an overview of the subject
  • an explanation of each work and why it is significant and/or relevant.
  • your analysis based on your findings and personal thoughts.
  • a conclusion.

NOTE: A Literature Review IS NOT the same as a Book Review.
